About the Co-operative
The Kowanyama Community Enterprise Co-operative (KOWYCO-OP) has been established by the community, for the community and has a local Board made up of Kowanyama residents. It operates enterprises, bids for local tenders from Council, provides services to businesses in town and creates local employment. The Co-op also provides opportunities for sole traders.

Founding of an Enterprise Co-operative
On the 13th of November 2024, the Kowanyama Community Enterprise Co-operative Limited was formed. With support from community, the Co-op's Mission
"To Empower the Kowanyama community, we foster co-operative businesses that create economic opportunities, honour culture, and sustain social and economic growth."
The Kowanyama Community Enterprise Co-operative was officially granted approval from the Queensland Government on the 6th of December 2024.

As a cornerstone of indigenous prosperity, we envision a thriving Kowanyama community deeply rooted in culture, self reliance and sustainable economic growth.

Bringing essential Food Security and health food options to the Kowanyama community.

Bringing essential reasonably priced clothes, shoes, cosmetics to the community

Bringing opportunities to the community for cleaning work, to earn more, save more

Building essential services including Garden, Horticulture, Lawn Mowing, A/C Cleaning and creating jobs.
